Diwali 2016 – Track Diwali Stock Picks by Experts (Samvat 2072)

Hi all, just like every Diwali, experts from various brokerage houses advise their clients on which stocks will do good in the coming year. I have gone over several sources and collected around 50 stock picks.  I have ignored unknown and small companies.Here are the Diwali stock picks for this year!

I have been tracking 46 stock predictions for this year. As of Dushera this year, here's the summary of how these predictions are performing:

• 29 out of 46 (63%) predictions are trading at prices that are lower than the predicted price.
• 17 of these stocks are trading at less than half the predicted price.
• 13 out of 46 (28%) predictions are trading at prices that are between 0% and 25% of the predicted price.
• 1 stock is trading at over 100% of the predicted price.
• The prediction is in the range of -79% to 110% of the predicted price.
• NIFTY has gained just under 3% over the same period.

Compared to the broad market, the predictions have been all over the place. A range of -79% to 110% is too big to give confidence in the ability of professional investors to forecast individual stock prices.
